A Simple Holy Week Quiet Time Plan (for Busy Women Who Want to Feel Close to Jesus Again)
Holy Week is one of those seasons that can feel deeply meaningful… and also very busy.
There are church services to attend, meals to plan, family schedules to juggle, baskets and outfits and last-minute errands, and somehow, the week that’s meant to center our hearts on Jesus can turn into one more thing we rush through.
And then Easter morning arrives, and we’re grateful… but also a little unsettled.
Because we wanted more than a holiday. We wanted Jesus.
If that’s you, I want you to know you’re not alone. I’ve felt that tension too—wanting the message of Easter to land in my heart, not just on my calendar.
So I’m going to share a simple plan you can use this week. It’s not complicated. It doesn’t require an hour a day. And it’s built for real life.
It’s a simple rhythm: a short reading, one reflection question, and one easy response—so even if you’re busy, you can still feel close to Jesus again.
Before we start: Let’s set the bar where grace lives
You don’t need a perfect quiet time to be loved by God. You don’t need to do Holy Week “right” to be close to Jesus.
This isn’t about proving anything.
It’s about making space—small space—for the One who already made space for you.
So if all you can do is five minutes in the morning… or a few minutes in the carpool line… or a quiet moment before bed… that counts.
Small moments with Jesus add up.
What you’ll need for this Holy Week plan
Keep it simple:
  • Your Bible
  •  A pen or highlighter
  • 5–10 minutes a day
  • Optional: a sticker, washi tape, or a small journaling card (only if you want)

You can do this plan with zero supplies and still have it be powerful.
The “Read • Reflect • Respond” rhythm (use this every day)
Here’s your daily flow:
Read the passage (don’t rush)
Reflect using one question
Respond with one sentence prayer or takeaway you write down
If you enjoy Bible journaling, you can add one small creative touch, but it’s completely optional.
Your Simple Holy Week Quiet Time Plan (7 Days)
You can start on Palm Sunday and go through Easter Sunday. If you’re reading this later, just start on Day 1 and keep going—there’s no wrong time to begin.
See Day 1: Palm Sunday — “Jesus, You are the kind of King I need.”
Read: Matthew 21:1–11
Reflect: What kind of King is Jesus, and what does my heart really need from Him?
Respond: Write one sentence:
“Jesus, I welcome You here.”
Quick journaling win: Write “HOSANNA” in the margin and underline it.
Day 2: Monday — “Jesus, clear what’s crowding my heart.”
Read: Matthew 21:12–17
Reflect: What feels crowded in my heart right now? What needs to be reordered?
Respond: Write one sentence:
“Jesus, make room for what matters most.”
Quick journaling win: Make two tiny lists: “Crowded” and “Clean.” Write 2–3 words under each.
Day 3: Tuesday — “Jesus, help me stay awake.”
Read: Matthew 24:42–44
Reflect: What distracts me most from being present with Jesus?
Respond: Write one sentence:
“Lord, help me pay attention to You today.”
Quick journaling win: Circle one phrase that stands out and write: “This is what I need.”
Day 4: Wednesday — “Jesus, You are worth it.”
Read: Mark 14:3–9
Reflect: What does wholehearted worship look like in my real life right now?
Respond: Write one sentence:
“Jesus, You are worth my best.”
Quick journaling win: Write “Beautiful” in the margin and add a simple heart or underline.
Day 5: Maundy Thursday — “Jesus, teach me to love like You.”
Read: John 13:1–17
Reflect: Who can I serve or love well today in a practical way?
Respond: Write one sentence:
“Jesus, help me love the way You love.”
Quick journaling win: Write one name in the margin and pray one sentence for that person.
Day 6: Good Friday — “Because of the cross, I am fully loved.”
Read: Luke 23:32–49
Reflect: What does the cross reveal about my worth to God?
Respond: Write one sentence:
“Because of the cross, I am fully loved.”
Quick journaling win: Write “It is finished” and underneath: “So I can stop striving.”
Day 7: Easter Sunday — “Jesus, You are alive, and You are with me.”
Read: John 20:1–18
Reflect: If I truly believed Jesus is alive and near, what would change in me today?
Respond: Finish this sentence in your Bible margin:
“He is risen… so I can ________.”
Quick journaling win: Write “ALIVE” big and bold. Let it stand out.
If you miss a day, here’s what to do
This matters, so I’m going to say it plainly:
Don’t quit.
Don’t shame yourself.
Just come back.
The enemy loves to turn one missed day into “I guess I’m just not consistent.” But that’s not the voice of Jesus.
The voice of Jesus is: “Come closer.”
So if you missed Day 3, do Day 3 today. Or skip ahead. Or start over.
Grace has no stopwatch.
Why this plan works (even when you’re busy)
Because it’s not trying to make you do more.
It’s helping you notice more.
Holy Week becomes powerful when we slow down long enough to see the heart of Jesus:
  • He came close.
  • He loved fully.
  • He served willingly.
  • He suffered in our place.
  • He rose again.

And that means your story isn’t stuck where it is today.
Because the resurrection means new life is possible—not just someday, but now.

One last encouragement for Holy Week
You don’t need to make Holy Week impressive.
You just need to make it present.
Jesus is not waiting for you to get your life together before He meets you. He meets you in the middle of it.
So take five minutes. Open your Bible. Read one passage. Write one sentence.
And let Holy Week do what it was always meant to do:
Bring you close to Jesus again.
